Balan is an innovative and artistic Director and Photographer who works across music, documentary and commercials. He’s collaborated with global artists such as Paolo Nutini, Sigrid and The Last Dinner Party.

He has a playful approach to filmmaking, something you see in his love of twisting and distorting the medium of film. Whether it’s his inventive camera techniques or quirky concepts, each is anchored in storytelling craft.

Balan works closely with artists to bring bold performances and striking visuals to the screen. His sets are full of positive collaboration and productive ease, cultivating a space where the talent feels at home.

He’s been recognised for his work by two Vimeo Staff Picks as well as a recent UKMVA nomination.
